We, at K-9 Behavior Services, have spent over 23 years in the dog training business perfecting this program to make sure we can offer the results responsible dog owners are seeking. We charge a legitimate price, we must offer legitimate results. We have created this page to help you better understand the private dog training program. Please read the following information and call us for any further questions you have.

In our private in-home dog training program, we will come to your home for private training sessions. Each session is typically one to two hours, we do not watch the clock, each session is different. We will come into your home and work hands-on with your dog, have you work with your dog, and then we will give you things to work on throughout the week. Our success rate is very high, as we make the process very simple for you. However, you will have to make time to work with your dog. You will have to establish the right relationship with your dog. If you do not follow the program we lay out for you, you will not be successful.

The reality is, dogs can be pushy, demanding, bratty, and most dogs carry some type of aggression. Dogs can be frustrating, but it doesn’t really take much to get them under control. Obviously, if a dog has more serious aggression issues, the training can be more difficult. Nevertheless, in most cases, we are able to make progress quickly. No dog trainer can guarantee a specific level of results. However, we should be able to make progress and see good results.

K-9 Behavior Services offers private in-home dog training courses in Los Angeles County, Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, Orange County, San Diego County, areas. Do you like what we have to say? Call us today to see if we recommend a dog trainer near you 818-216-8960.

a word from the owner...

I have been training dogs for a long time, and I have had the pleasure of meeting some amazing people, and dogs! Although there has been times where I could do with less dog poo poo, I’ve always made sure, within my control, that my clients and their dogs like me. This is done by being professional, kind, patient, and honest. We live in a fast paced world, and I see a lot of dog trainers that get short with their clients and tend to stop appreciating them at some point. I have even lately seen other trainers that will post email or text exchanges with clients and make fun of them. I don’t understand why or at what point a trainer feels as though they can disrespect a potential client, or even simply a human being in general.

I am always open to chatting with potential clients, existing clients, and even past clients… I mean, why wouldn’t I. I have seen Los Angeles dog trainers recently posting on Facebook about how they do not even pick up the phone any more, that they REQUIRE an email initially. I actually prefer the opposite; I like to get the client on the phone so we can discuss their situation and I can clearly explain things to them.

So with that said… give me a call so we can chat. I look forward to talking to and getting to know new clients and their dogs. I’m definitely easy to talk to, and I try to be available as much as I can. Thank you and hopefully we’ll be talking soon!

Callie, The Service Dog, Came Back To Visit Us After Five Years!

Callie originally came into our Los Angeles service dog training program for foundational service dog training. She initially was a very good student, learned quickly, and was very willing to please. She was definitely a star student and an absolute pleasure to have staying with us.

She then went home to Hawaii to continue service dog training with her owner. She went on to become a spectacular service dog, assisting her owner in a number of ways. We are super proud to have been a part of her training, and assisting in getting the service dog training process started.

Once Callie had matured, she was bred to another dog that had produced many quality service dogs. Her owner then contacted us and scheduled to send three of the puppies to go through our service dog foundation training process. It was such a great and gratifying opportunity for us to see Callie and witness her in action.

Callie and the puppies have since returned to Hawaii, and we are happy to report that they are all doing very well. Feel free to watch our ‘Daily Story’ on Instagram at www.instagram.com/k9behaviorservices.

the 'place' command is very important for many reasons!

This command teaches your dog that the house is  a controlled environment, and he cannot do whatever he wants, whenever, he wants, and for any reason he wants. This command will actually you teach him that there are rules and boundaries that he has to follow.

meet buster, and he had a partner in crime, Wrigley!

The two Pitbulls, Buster and Wrigley, came to us from Burbank, CA for dog aggression boot camp training. Although they were good boys most of the time, they were maturing and starting to get difficult to handle. They had a small dispute from time to time, but nothing very serious. Unfortunately, one day the front door was left open and they though it would be funny to chase the poor mail man, jump on him, and take a few shots at him. So, the deal got a little serious and it was time for them to get into some serious training.

Dog aggression is always a behavior problem that should be taken seriously and should be handled by an experience, knowledgeable, and ethical balanced dog trainer. There are many dog aggression trainers in Los Angeles, Orange County, and Ventura County that do not know how to properly deal with dog aggression cases. Buyer beware when hiring a dog aggression trainer. Any dog aggression trainer that claims to be able to ‘fix any dog aggression problem’ is not a legit dog trainer. It is not even logical that some one can fix any dog aggression problem. Always make sure you are dealing with a legit and reputable dog aggression trainer when you are in your search and hiring phase!

Buster and Wrigley were very resistant to training in the beginning because they thought they had it all figured out. They thought they only had to listen when they felt like it. Through the dog aggression boot camp training process, we were able to convince them to listen and respond even when they are distracted. Although the training works, the owners still have to put the time in and establish the right relationship with their dogs. We do everything we can to get the owners on track and working well with their dogs. However, it is ultimately up to the owners to follow the program we lay out for them.

hi, my name is dallas. i went to dog aggression camp training from simi valley!

Meet Dallas, from Simi Valley, CA 93062! Dallas is a handsome young German Shepherd Dog with some aggression issues. As Dallas matured, he became very protective of his owner, his family, his car, and protective of his home territory. This behavior is normal for a young male German Shepherd that is maturing. It is in fact, a set of behaviors that a German Shepherd dog owner should expect to be a possibility. By keeping your mind open to these possibilities, you will be better prepared to take action to deal with the behaviors.

Once we got Dallas in our Simi Valley dog aggression boot camp training program, we were able to make great progress very quickly. Although Dallas did challenge us in the dog training and behavior modification process, he was equally as ready to learn and start complying with what were asking from him.

Dallas made great progress quickly and we were excited to get him home so his owners could start establishing their new relationship with him. There is only so much a dog trainer can do in a short time period, and most dog owners are looking for a dog trainer that can accomplish the most in the shortest period of time.

After about two weeks of our dog aggression boot camp training program, we dropped Dallas off with a two hour dog training session in order to get his owners on track with obedience and behavior modification training. His owners did a great job following our instructions and have made amazing progress with him. Now, his owners are able to walk him down the street with no problems, and they have created new routines with him that allow him to be much more involved in their daily lives!

There are a lot of unqualified and wannabe dog trainers out there creating franchises that offer poor dog training. Take a look at trainer’s credentials, experience, and references. Talk to past and current clients. Ask a lot of questions. A good dog trainer in the Los Angeles or Ventura area should be willing to take some time with you and make you feel comfortable with him prior to you dropping your hard earned money. Feel free to call us and ask any questions you might have. Thank you.

hi, my name is storm! i went to dog boot camp training sherman oaks.

Meet Storm, from Sherman Oaks, CA 91403, a young male Husky with a little bit of stubbornness. Storm is a great young dog, he just needed to learn some rules and boundaries. Storm came to our Dog Beach Boot CampTM, and had a great time from Ventura Beach to camping in Gorman. He learned to control himself off leash at the beach around people and other dogs. He learned to heel very nicely both on and off leash.

Upon Storm’s drop off, he was definitely still being stubborn for the first few minutes. However, once he realized that his dad was going to reinforce the same rules he was taught, her quickly began to respond very quickly and accurately. His owner was very happy with the results and enjoyed being able to communicate with Storm on a totally different level.

We truly encourage everybody to get started with training as early was they can with their dog and not let their dog get out of control or unruly. It can make training much harder when your dog is jumping on people, barking excessively, pulling on the leash, potty training issues, growling, snapping, etc.

hi, my name is charlie. i went to dog aggression camp from camarillo!

Meet Charlie, from Camarillo, CA 93010, a Labrodaor Retriever German Shepherd mix, who came into training as a dog aggression boot camp case. Charlie came in for our kennel free 10 to 14 day training course. When she was picked up, she was on her rear legs and lunging to attack the trainer, Jeremy Talamantes! Charlie stayed with Jeremy and was trained most of every day of the dog aggression boot camp training course.

Although Charlie had a hard time adjusting at first, it was only a few days that Charlie was settled in and knew that the training program was serious, but was also fun at times.

When Charlie was dropped off, she was well behaved, walked nicely, heeled correctly, and was actually tolerant of people and animals passing by. Charlie has a very very strong defensive and territorial response to the door bell. Therefore, Jeremy is continuing to work with Charlie and her owner to minimize it as much as possible. Her owner has recently reported that the door bell trigger is much much better and that Charlie is doing very well in all of her training.
