about this WOODLAND HILLS dog training boot camp client

Connor is an awesome Husky/Pit mix from the neighborhood where we offer doggy boot camp and dog aggression training, Woodland Hills, in Los Angeles, Ca 91364. Connor’s owners had previously sent one of their dogs to us at K-9 Behavior Services, so they knew they could count on us to help Connor with his aggression issue. Connor is a very people friendly dog, but his aggression would come out when he would see cats. We have a useful tool here on the ranch for this exact situation, a few feral cats we let roam around the ranch. We let them roam as they wish, and they are a good distraction for dogs that have aggression issues such as Connor. Plus, they’re just too cute to get rid of.

Aggression can be present in any way, shape or form. For Connor from what we saw, is completely people friendly, and even dog friendly, but cats are the one thing that triggers his nerves, gets him riled up, and makes it difficult to control him. He did very well in the obedience training, he’s a quick learner and whatever he learned stuck with him. Some dogs can learn something in a training session one day, but the next day act like they’ve never done it before, which is why training a dog takes time and patience.

Connor is a playful guy, but during training he got down to business and progressed daily. But then, once cats would catch his eye, his mood would change. He would tense up and focus his attention on the cats, who would sometimes walk just a few feet away from him. At times it was a challenge to revert his attention back on us. But soon the point came when we could walk him, and have three or four cats walk by right in front of him. He would see the cats, get a little nervous, but then look up at his handler, knowing that he was no longer allowed to lose control and go after them. This was a good sign for us, it meant he understood the rules and was showing us he’s trying to follow them.

Dog aggression training is a very popular training program throughout the Los Angeles, Orange County, and Ventura County areas.

Connor is a wonderful guy and a great dog to see succeed in our aggression program. With his new training he will be much more manageable in any situation, and he’s now able to control himself in stressful environments. We at K-9 Behavior Services are proud to help anyone who has difficulty controlling their dog, and even prouder when the dog makes the behavior change and works hard at making the change stick. From all of us at K-9 Behavior Services, great job Connor!

This dog aggression training program is offered in other cities such as Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Miami, Palm Beach, Broward, Miami Dade, Boca Raton, Sacramento, the Bay Area, and San Francisco.
