This duo was quite the handful. They definitely fed off of each other. They are very nice dogs, but given the chance to get rowdy, and they were on it. They did have the propensity to be aggressive, but that can be managed with training.

Buster and Wrigley are beautiful Pit Bulls from Burbank, CA 91501. They came in for dog aggression boot camp training, Burbank, because they had gotten out of the front door and attacked the mail man. Well… the mail man said ‘attacked’, but others might use a word like, ‘harrassed’. Nevertheless, the mail man went to the hospital and had some scrapes that needed attention. Bottom line is, the dogs had gotten out of control and needed to have some serious training so they were not taken away!

Pit Bulls need training, they are a very powerful breed that often have a higher propensity for aggression towards dogs and animals. In some cases, their aggression can be taken out on humans, in some cases their aggression can even be towards the people they love the most. There is often a big argument as to who’s fault the aggression is. I have a tendency to focus on the aggression and minimizing and managing it, instead of pointing fingers and wasting precious time.
In this case, both dogs did very well and were ready to go home only after about two weeks of training. The owners were set on being firm and reinforcing what was taught, but it is often difficult to change the human patterns, even when it is explained and demonstrated. It can be a frustrating task for a trainer, as he is often the one that is looked to for all the answers. However, Buster and Wrigley’s owners have been working at reinforcing and they are doing much better every day!
In our dog aggression boot camp, Burbank, the drop off training session and the follow up training session is very important in order to get the dogs to respond correctly to the training and help the owners establish the correct relationship with their dogs. We do as much as we can to get the owners on the right track. However, at some point, the owners must step up and do the right thing, follow directions, and get their dogs to respond correctly.
